SHOTS FIRED! Scottie Pippen Doesn't Think LeBron Has the Same "Clutch Gene" as Jordan

Earlier this morning, Scottie Pippen was interviewed on ESPN's First Take, in which the Chicago Bulls legend and 6x NBA champion provided some candid soundbites in respect to LeBron James and Michael Jordan.
“When I look at LeBron, he’s not what Michael was as a player," Pippen said during the segment, "He’s not even what Kobe Bryant was as a player. So when you talk about trying to compare Michael’s instinct, his ability to take over games, his ability to want to have that last shot,” in his eyes the comparison shouldn't be made.
At that moment, Stephen A Smith appeared to agree with Pippen's sentiments, by saying Jordan would "demoralize and scare the living hell out of you," to which the 7x All-Star replied by saying: “Yes, LeBron doesn’t have that gene.”
From there, Pippen went on to name a handful of players that he believes do embody those qualities more than LeBron James, mentioning the aforementioned Bryant in addition to Russell Westbrook and Kawhi Leonard.
Meanwhile, it should be noted that Pippen said back in 2017 that James was "probably ahead" of Jordan from a statistical standpoint, while later clarifying that he'd still "pick MJ over LeBron." He also recently questioned why James proclaimed himself to be the GOAT in a recent docuseries, as opposed to letting his game speak for itself.
With that said, Pippen's allegiance to his former teammate may not be shocking to many, though by criticizing his ability to take over games and seemingly questioning his mental toughness, it's likely the headlines will continue to cause a stir in the basketball world while the Lakers still find themselves outside the playoffs.
